Relying on national “Double first-class” disciplines including Marine Science and Ecology, and state key disciplines such as Marine Science, Environmental Science, and etc., National Observation and Research Station for the Taiwan Strait Marine Ecosystem (T-SMART) was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in October 2021. With integration of the observation and research on upwelling ecosystems and coastal wetland ecosystems such as mangroves in the Taiwan Strait for nearly 30 years, T-SMART is mainly committed to the long-term monitoring and experimental research on structure and function of marine ecosystem, which provides science and technology support for the health of marine ecosystem and the sustainable development of economy.
