With a continuous geographical unit of ""Strait - Bay - estuary"", T-SMART is blessed with unique geographical conditions and relatively complete scientific research facilities, making it an important teaching, scientific research and practice base for Xiamen University and other peer universities and research institutes.   It has been approved as ""Fujian Mangrove Biology Field Practice Education Base"", ""NSFC National Science Basic Science Research and Teaching Talent Training Base (Biology)"", ""Fujian College Students Social Practice Base"" by Fujian Provincial Education Department and Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League "".

During the primary school period from July to August every year, T-SMART provides logistics support for more than 400 teachers and students of the College of Ocean and Earth and the College of Environment and Ecology of Xiamen University.   The teachers and students of the two institutes used the two experimental fields of T-SMART as the base to carry out a variety of practical production training activities, including special lectures, graduate forums, field research, and Marine investigations.

In addition, so far, T-SMART has served Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, Sun Yat-sen University, etc. to carry out production practice and practical activities in the Taiwan Station experiment field, and more than 300 undergraduates from major universities come to the station to carry out production practice and course practice every year.
