T-SMART actively engages in the dissemination of knowledge and public education regarding marine and ecological environment science. Each year, it hosts events such as the “Open Day for Marine Science Popularization”, the “Summer Camp for Marine Science Popularization”, the “Open Day for Wetland Science Popularization”, and the “National Training Course on Mangrove Protection and Restoration”. Additionally, it carries out a range of publicity, educational, and cultural construction activities at various levels through collaborations with universities, primary and secondary schools, enterprises, and public institutions. Efforts are made to enhance public awareness of marine and ecological environmental protection and to promote the development of marine and ecological environmental scientific research and education.
T-SMART has been recognized as the “China Marine Science Popularization Base” by the State Oceanic Administration, the “Ocean Awareness Education Base” by the State Oceanic Administration, a member unit of the “China Sea Turtle and Tiger Alliance” of the National Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Association, a cooperation base of the China Marine Science Excellence Education Partnership Program, and the Ecological Science Popularization Education Base of the Chinese Ecological Society.
The 2023 Summer Research activity of Xiamen University-Binglang Middle School took place in M-ECORS from July 8-10, 2023.
