A laboratory-based platforms for marine animal cultivation, acoustic behavior analysis, acoustic data analysis, hearing tests and field experiments was biult at D-SMART, to track the influence of changes in ecological factors (e.g. light and temperature) on sound production and sensing processes of target marine animals. This can help provide baseline data to build the link between changes in the ocean and animal behavior, while acting as a platform to enhance outreach and the integration of research and science popularization.
